Lesson
Proposals: short beats long
A proposal has: what you understood, what you propose, what it costs, what happens next. Under one page. Longer proposals are not more professional; they are harder to read.
Status updates: predictable rhythm
Weekly is often enough. What is done, what is next, any blockers, and a link or file if useful. Predictability builds trust — clients calm down when they know when to expect you.
Boundaries without apology
'That is outside our current scope. Here is what it would take to add it.' No apology, no drama, no discount for showing up. AI helps you find phrasing that is firm and kind at the same time.
Example — Nepal freelance developer
A developer receives a scope-change request. He asks AI to help draft a friendly reply that names the change, quotes the extra time, and offers to schedule it after the current sprint. Sent same day.
Prompt template

Draft one of the following for me, in [language]. Type: [proposal / status update / boundary message]. Context: [1–3 sentences, placeholders for names]. My tone: [warm / professional / direct]. Rules: no apology for existing, no undercharging, no vague scope, no invented case studies.
Practice task
Pick one real (or realistic) freelance situation you deal with. Draft the appropriate message. Read it aloud. If you would not send it to your best client, rewrite it. Save all three template types as a personal pack.
