Reusable image prompt recipe

What you'll learn

  • Write image prompts that produce consistent, reusable results.
  • Iterate with small changes instead of rewriting from scratch.
  • Save a reusable image-prompt recipe.
Lesson

From guessing to recipe

A prompt recipe is a template you keep and edit. Instead of starting from a blank line every time, you change one field. Consistency comes from reusing the recipe; variety comes from changing one thing at a time.

One-change iteration

If a result is close but not right, change one word or one field. 'Warmer light.' 'Wider framing.' 'Simpler background.' Small changes teach you what each word does. Rewriting the whole prompt teaches you nothing.

Negative direction

Many image tools accept negative guidance: 'no text, no watermark, no logos, no distorted hands.' A short 'avoid' line often removes the most common failure modes.

Saving your recipe

Keep a plain note with your best prompt template and 3–4 example outputs. When you need a similar image next month, you have a starting point rather than a blank prompt.

Example — Reusable illustration recipe

A creator saves a recipe: 'Flat-design illustration of [subject], soft pastel palette, wide framing, calm mood, no text, no logos.' When she needs a new blog banner, she only changes [subject].

Prompt template

Reusable image prompt recipe

Base recipe:
[Style] illustration of [subject], [setting], [mood] mood, [framing].
Avoid: text, watermarks, logos, real people's faces, distorted hands.

Today's change: [one word or field].
Practice task

Take yesterday's image prompt and turn it into a reusable recipe. Generate 3 variations by changing only one field each time. Save the recipe and the 3 results.

Success checklist
  • Your recipe has clearly labeled slots.
  • You made only one change per iteration.
  • You added a short 'avoid' line.
  • You saved the recipe for reuse.
Knowledge check

Self-check only. Nothing here is scored. Tap a question to reveal the answer.

Reflection

Which recurring visual do you make often that would benefit from a saved recipe?

Safety note

Do not save recipes that request likenesses of real people, copyrighted characters, or misleading realism. If a saved recipe stops matching your ethics later, delete it.
