Lesson
Split roles between tools
Use a general chat to shape the question and outline. Use a research AI to gather sourced facts. Use the general chat again to draft the brief. Use your own reading to verify. Each tool does what it is best at.
Name the uncertainties
Every brief has gaps. Naming them ('we could not find data more recent than 2023 for this') is the mark of trustworthy work. It also tells the reader what to double-check before acting.
The final one-pager
One page: question, 5 key findings with sources and dates, 2–3 open questions, and a next step. If it does not fit on one page, tighten it. If it fits and is still useful, you have a repeatable format.
Example — Colombia parcel research
A learner asks: 'What are typical delivery times for small parcels in Colombia in 2024–2025?' She uses ChatGPT to shape the question, Perplexity to find sources, and drafts a one-page brief with two named uncertainties.
