Three product description formats

What you'll learn
Write honest, specific product descriptions with AI help.
Produce three formats: short, medium, and long.
Avoid claims you cannot prove.
Lesson
Description = truth + usefulness
A good product description tells the reader what the product is, who it fits, and what it does. Adjectives without specifics ('amazing', 'life-changing') say nothing. Specifics ('fits UK size 6–8', 'washable at 30°C') sell.
Three formats, one product
Short (30–50 words for a marketplace card). Medium (80–120 words for a shop page). Long (200–300 words for a landing block with three benefits and two objections handled). Producing all three at once teaches you which details matter most.
Handle objections honestly
For each product, list the two questions people always ask ('does it fit tall people?', 'is it waterproof?'). Answer them in the description. Honesty about limits builds trust more than pretending there are no limits.
Compliance-safe language
Do not claim medical, health, financial, or safety outcomes you cannot back up. 'Helps you sleep better' is a claim. 'Made of breathable cotton' is a fact. Prefer facts.
Example — Nepal handmade candle
A seller drafts short, medium, and long descriptions for a soy candle. She removes an AI-added line about 'stress relief' because she cannot prove it, and keeps 'burns for approximately 30 hours', which she has tested.
Prompt template
Three-format product description prompt
Write 3 product descriptions.
Product: [name].
Key facts: [material, size, use, care, price if relevant].
Top 2 customer questions: [q1], [q2].
Audience: [who this is for].
Output:
1. Short (30–50 words).
2. Medium (80–120 words).
3. Long (200–300 words).
Rules: no unproven claims, no medical or financial outcomes, no fake reviews.
Practice task
Pick one real (or realistic fictional) product. Draft all three formats. Cross out any AI line you cannot personally verify. Save the cleaned versions.
Success checklist
All three formats exist and match the same facts.
You removed at least one unverifiable AI claim.
You answered the two most common customer questions.
No fake reviews or testimonials appear.

Self-check only. Nothing here is scored. Tap a question to reveal the answer.
Reflection
Which of your products would sell better with a shorter, more honest description?
Safety note
Never fabricate reviews, testimonials, endorsements, awards, certifications, or 'as seen on' claims. In many countries, fake reviews are illegal.
